“Capturing the World: Photography for Young Creators”

 

To introduce young participants to the basics of photography, encouraging creativity and storytelling through visual imagery.

 

1. Introduction to Photography

  • Brief history of photography.

  • Importance of storytelling through photos.

  • Overview of cameras (smartphones, DSLRs, and compact cameras).

 

2. Understanding the Basics

  • The rule of thirds and composition.

  • Lighting: natural vs. artificial.

  • Perspective and angles.

  • Focus and depth of field.

 

3. Hands-On Practice

  • Guided photography walk (nature, urban, or themed).

  • Fun assignments: capturing emotions, patterns, or "the world from my perspective."

 

4. Editing Basics

  • Introduction to simple editing apps (e.g., Snapseed, Lightroom Mobile).

  • Cropping, brightness, contrast, and filters.

 

5. Photo Review & Feedback

  • Group session to showcase and discuss participants’ photos.

  • Constructive critique to encourage improvement.

 

6. Creative Themes

  • Storytelling through a photo series.

  • Highlighting environmental or community issues.

 

7. Wrap-Up

  • Certificates of completion.

ANIMATION, STOP MOTION AND CLAYMATION

THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF PAPER ANIMATION

 

Students will learn the magic of animation, stop-motion animation as they let their imaginations come alive with a special focus on the art of paper-cut animation.  Student will start out by sampling a variety of stop-motion animation techniques, they work in pairs or small group to make fun short films using paper cut animation.

Students will learn basic animation skills to animate lego by understanding fundamental principles, using software like Adobe After Effects, and practicing with simple projects. They'll likely learn about keyframe animation, shape layers, and how to export their animated legos.

​FANTASTIC ADVENTURES IN CLAYMATION

 

 

 

 

 

 

Students will learn the magic of stop-motion animation as they let their imaginations come alive with a special focus on the art of Claymation. Student will start out by sampling a variety of stop-motion animation techniques, then work in pairs to make fun short films using clay animation.
